Album Review: 'Greetings From Your Hometown' by Jonas Brothers

*Disclaimer: To align with the mission of BB Media Industries as well as previous posts, author B.B. thought this album deserved a shout out. While electronic dance music and independent music deserves more recognition, the Jonas Brothers continue to shock and awe in the interesting pop music landscape.

Since the reunion of the band in 2019 with the FANTASTIC album 'Happiness Begins', the Jonas Brothers have reinvented their sound, their image, and have showcased their growth as men.  They have collaborated with songwriters and producers that have produced quality music.  In fact, the previously released 'The Album' in 2023 has been revered as an underrated album in the past couple of years due to the constant release of music and content within the industry.

Another impressive milestone for 2025 is the celebration of 20 years as a band. That longevity can not be ignored considering Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas started so young.  B.B. has admitted in other post publications that during the original run and popularity through the Disney Channel,  their appeal didn't align with tastes at the time. However, their return in 2019 certainly changed that opinion due to the timing and maturity by all.

Let's get into the Album Review of 'Greetings From Your Hometown'. B.B. will admit that the first couple of listens of the album didn't meet initial expectations since the original announcement. However, upon an additional listens to every track in sequential order, these songs just hit for their current sound.

1. "I Can't Lose": Delightful song that grabs your attention in a feel good way to set the mood for the entire album.

2. "Tables": Another upbeat song that as recent interviews by the Jonas Brothers points to the "Easter Egg" from an old video that fans revere "Oh, Have the Tables have Turned".

3. "Love Me to Heaven": A song that draws from familiar musical influences from the New Jersey area that you can't help but notice. It's just catchy.

4. "No Time To Talk": A beyond catchy tune with an approved sample from the Bee Gees that you can't help but dance to the beat.

5. "Backwards": A slower song, that could be called a ballad for your easy listening pleasure.

6. "Loved You Better (with Dean Lewis)": A well written song by Dean that turned out to be a great collaboration. It's just a greatly executed song from the piano, vocals, and other instrumentation.

7. "Greeting From Your Hometown (with Switchfoot)": The title song that is a fantastic collaboration with Switchfoot to remind those who may have forgotten the sound from the 1990's.

8. "When You Know": This guitar and vocal song is just fantastic the more times you listen. We will probably see this song added to lists of the songs from their catalog with significant meaning.

9. "Heat Of The Moment": An upbeat song with an infectious vibe. It just a song for easy listening.

10. "Bully": Another easy listening song with an infectious vibe. A well executed use of vocal enhancement tools during production keeps the song unique. Are you dancing yet?

11. "Waste No Time": Keeping the upbeat vibes going with this song. More easily listening for your pleasure.

12. "Lucky": Pay attention to the lyrics in this song as it is showcased with a focus on acoustic sounds. It's a lovely song.

13. "Mirror to the Sky": Another great song with a catchy beat that just rounds out the album.

14. "Slow Motion (with Marshmello)": Another collaboration with Marshmello that will probably be remixed for future performances in the electronic dance music realm.

Did you know they have also released a DELUXE version the album? It features acoustic versions and new song "Tantrum".

"Tantrum": This song just "SLAPS" (as the kids say) from the initial beat. A lot can be said for a song made for dancing and upbeat vibes.

In conclusion, this album will grow on you the more you listen and perhaps as you see their current performances from their current tour or media appearances. It's just a mature vibe, that some are deeming as a part of the "Yacht Rock" for this generation. Congratulations to Joe, Kevin, and Nick for the release and success of this album!

"In Search of Sunrise" by Tiesto at EDC Las Vegas 2025

The annual Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Las Vegas for 2025 just happened this past weekend, and the entire Electronic Dance Music community is deeply in discussion over the set that many thought may never happen.  For more context or a short history lesson for those who may be unaware, Tiesto began his career as DJ Tiesto spearheading the beloved Trance genre that for a majority of community, began it all. Tiesto created the compilation series "In Search of Sunrise" to showcase the sounds and the journey you can go on while the music plays.

When Tiesto decided to experiment and pursue what many call "EDM" now in an effort to build a commercialized industry where DJs and Producers can become extremely wealthy, Trance became a genre that has always been put under a microscope.  The popularity of other genres within Electronic Dance Music such as House, Techno, Bass, Dubstep, and others have become synonymous with EDM to those who find themselves fans of other music. In fact, the term "trance" deemed itself unpopular in recent years causing many DJs, Producers, and fans to evolve within the industry to stay relevant.

When an "In Search of Sunrise" set at Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) was announced, this author truly hoped it would live up to expectations. The constant debate and demand for Tiesto to return to "his roots" has been on going for 30 years. As evident by the discussions throughout social media, brilliant other posts, and this publication itself, we can agree that this set exceeded expectations! We can also attest that whomever suggested this set is a genius due to the "buzz" it has created within the Electronic Dance Music community worldwide.
